SUBMISSIONS
Thank you for your interest in I Heart Book Publishing!
We are currently NOT accepting submissions. Please check back for updates.
I Heart Book Publishing opened its door to writers August 2014. We welcome new and seasoned authors to send us their manuscripts (new or previously published). Simultaneous submissions will be accepted provided you clearly state the status in your cover letter that another publisher is considering.
We are asked if we are a traditional press, and the answer is multifaceted. We are NOT a vanity press. We are NOT a pay-as-you-go company either. Think of us as a "bridge" between traditional publishing and self-publishing. We offer the "back end" of the business that self-publishing authors don't have the time to handle or getting published with a smaller or mid-size houses with preferred genres.
With the ever-evolving publishing world, we saw a need for authors who wanted to self-publish their books, but didn't know where to begin. Or, they didn't have the time to handle the business side of the industry. Are you an author who thinks the only choices are self-publishing or traditional publishing? You can maneuver the overwhelming and tedious job of learning the ins and outs of formatting, uploading to different distributors and their guidelines, pricing conundrum, and creating artwork for covers. You can write queries and synopses for your book and submit to many publishers and wait six weeks, ten weeks, twelve weeks before you get a rejection letter and then start the process all over again until you get a yes. Then, you can look at what IHBP can offer. We do all the "business" side of this publishing realm and in return you get more control over your work with higher royalties. Yes, you read that right--check below for the terms. These are the only requirements:
1. Your manuscript has to be professionally edited prior to submission. (Don't fret, we have a list of editors you can choose from if you haven't done so.)
2. You have created an attractive cover to showcase your story. (Again, don't fret, we have a list of cover artists with prices ranging from $35 on up to $100 or more. We also offer to create your cover for a very, very minimal price. We aren't interested in charging big prices. Over half of our covers are done by IHBP.)
3. We have a list of bloggers that you can also send your book for review (most sites prefer the author to submit directly).
4. You have a say in pricing. Most houses set the prices, but we give you a choice. (We put an average based on size for both eBook and Print.)
