The story of our experiences has lain quietly in my heart for decades. After my husband Joe passed and knowing my time was getting short, I decided to write down what happened in 802701 A.D. The Time Traveler spent eight days among the Eloi. We shared the last six. He answered few of my questions, but what I learned provided the foundation for the eventual liberation of my world from a moribund decline begun centuries earlier. Time proved I got the better end of the bargain.

In the process of rebuilding, Joe and I spent the next several decades commuting between my original home and the twenty-first century. That story must wait for another time. This one explains how the adventure began, composed long after the fact by someone with feet planted firmly in both cultures.
